FDA Registration
At Doral Customs Brokers we specialize in consulting services and customs documentation for first-time importers. It is important to know that all food manufacturers and distributors wishing to export food products into the US are required by FDA to have an FDA registration. Importers that wish to bring food products from other countries into the US are also required to have their own FDA Food Facility Registration number.
We offer registration services for both US importers and foreign exporters, we also serve as US Agents for foreign food manufacturers and distributors.
Individual food products do not require a FDA registration, only the companies that represent the manufacturers, distributors, exporters and importers need to be registered. FDA shipments such as perishable and non-perishable food, cosmetics and medical devices require special care to ensure that the products are compliant with the current FDA regulations.
We frequently work with first-time importers on the product and packaging design to ensure that it meets the FDA labeling guidelines prior to the first import shipment. We recommend that all first-time exporters and importers review carefully the current FDA Food Labeling Guidelines and the FDA Cosmetic Labeling Guidelines prior to finalizing their product and packaging design.
